Parking Regulations
The Vassar College Security Department acknowledges that parking on campus remains a challenge and we request the cooperation and patience of all.
Vassar Community vehicles must be registered with the college:
Faculty, Staff and Administration: Register at the Buildings and Grounds Department.
Students: Register at the Security Office, 39 New Hackensack Road.
Illegally parked and unregistered vehicles may be ticketed. Unregistered cars are towed at owner's expense after the third ticket. Registered vehicles are banned after the third ticket, and may be towed for any violation of the ban.
Basic parking Regulations:
- Park in a legal spot. (The spaces are marked with white lines).
- Obey the 15–MPH campus speed limit and obey all stop signs.
- Motorcycles, mopeds and motor scooters are not permitted on campus. They may enter through North Gate and park in North Lot or near the Town House Booth.
- Vehicles without a parking decal or a visitors permit are subject to tow.
- The Main Drive is reserved for visitors and admissions parking only.
- Most roadways are fire lanes; parking is permitted only where indicated.
- People requiring handicapped parking permits must contact the Baldwin Health Center at 437–5800.
Traffic regulations not outlined here are explained in the Student Handbook. The handbook is available at the Office of College Relations.
